Brendan Rodgers Confirms Celtic Injury Blow

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that defender Christopher Jullien will be out for "a number of weeks" with a knee injury.

The French centre-back sustained the injury in training on Thursday and will now miss Celtic's upcoming fixtures, including the Champions League qualifier against Midtjylland next week.

Rodgers told the club's official website: "It's a blow for us. Christopher has been playing very well and he's a big part of our team. But we have other players who can come in and do a job for us." Jullien has been a key player for Celtic since joining the club from Toulouse in 2019. He has made 60 appearances for the Hoops, scoring six goals.

The 28-year-old's absence will be a major blow to Celtic's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League group stage. The Hoops face a tough task against Midtjylland, who are the reigning Danish champions.

Rodgers will be hoping to have Jullien back fit for the start of the Scottish Premiership season, which begins on July 31. Celtic are aiming to win their 11th consecutive league title.
