Early Life and Family

Titiek Soeharto, born Raden Ayu Siti Hediati Soeharto, was born in Semarang, Central Java, on April 21, 1949. She was the third of President Soeharto and Siti Hartinah's six children. Growing up in a prominent and influential family, Titiek had a privileged upbringing and attended prestigious schools.

Titiek's father, Soeharto, was a military general who rose to power after the fall of President Sukarno in 1965 and ruled Indonesia for over 30 years. Her mother, Siti Hartinah, was a prominent philanthropist and social activist known for her charitable work.

Education and Early Career

Titiek Soeharto received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Indonesia. Subsequently, she pursued further education in the United States, obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Upon her return to Indonesia, Titiek worked as a lecturer at the University of Indonesia in the Department of Sociology. She also held positions at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Marriage and Personal Life

In 1973, Titiek Soeharto married Prabowo Subianto, a rising star in the Indonesian military. The couple had one son, Didit Hediprasetyo.

Family and Political Ambitions

Prabowo Subianto's political ambitions were evident early on. He held various high-ranking positions in the military and was widely seen as a potential successor to President Soeharto. However, their marriage ended in divorce in 1998, amidst the political turmoil surrounding President Soeharto's resignation.

Titiek's son, Didit Hediprasetyo, is a successful businessman and entrepreneur. He is known for his extensive property investments and is often seen in the social circles of Jakarta's elite.
